Just minutes from Mâcon in the basement of a beautiful renovated manor house of the seventeenth century, the museum houses one of the most impressive private collections in the world for the number and quality of its items. This is the history of perfume and cosmetics from the eighteenth century to the present times unfolding before the eyes of visitors.

Cosy atmosphere, soft lighting, constant temperature : to enter the world of perfume and luxury, a little decorum is required.Gradually as one progresses, the windows are illuminated discreetly showing off their treasures. Unique pieces appear, some of them are over 300 years old they have passed through time and space intact , air-blown glass bottles from the East, delicate toilet items Asian boxes decorated with gold leaf . In the field of perfumery, the container is as important as the contents; artists and craftsmen in this industry, combining creativity and talent, have shown genius. Real wonders came out of their workshops. One can admire works of the great master jeweler and glassmaker Lalique, Nathalie Lancier has dedicated special attention and space to them. And prestigious names follow each other, symbols of french elegance and refinement Guerlain, Caron, Coty, Lanvin, Roger & Gallet, Houbigant, d'Orsay, Lancome, Christian Dior, Jean Patou, Chanel, Salvador Dali, Niki de Saint Phalle Bourgeois, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier who engraved on one of his flasks the museum's name ... You'll find bottles of perfume dating back to the nineteenth and twentieth century, old miniatures, advertising items, old giant copies, flasks reissued, archives documents, books, advertisements, bottles by Rene Lalique, Baccarat crystal, Saint Louis crystal, Mauritius Dépinoix, Lucien Gaillard, Andre Jolivet, Julien Viard, Marc Lalique ...

Besides this space is also shared with artists who exhibit their works, lace and many original creations.

Visiting the museum is free.

We are looking for any information, flasks, powder box, old documents, photographs, on the French perfume and foreign ! Even photocopies are welcome.
